About Dr. Weaver
Dr. Weaver's interest in optometry began at a young age. When he was six-years-old, one of his first grade classmates flung a pencil into the air that landed in his right eye. Fortunately, Dr. Weaver and his right eye survived the incident, but that was the first of many trips to the local optometrist, which left a lasting impression that led him down the career path of becoming an eye doctor.
Dr. Weaver received his high school diploma from Palmerton Area High School in 1995. He attended Elizabethtown College, obtaining his Bachelor of Science Degree in 1999. He graduated magna cum laude, with a major in Biology, a minor in chemistry and a pre-medicine concentration. Dr. Weaver received his Doctor of Optometry degree from the New England College of Optometry in May 2003.
Dr. Weaver is a certified optometrist by the National Board Examiners of Optometry. He currently holds a therapeutic license in the state of Pennsylvania, allowing him to diagnose and treat/manage ocular disease conditions such as glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy, “pink eye,” retinal disease, side-effects from high risk medications, etc. He maintains his licensure by regularly attending continuing educational classes and conferences.

His doctorate studies provided his experience in primary care, ocular disease, specialty/complex contact lens fittings, LASIK pre- and post-operative management, cataract pre- and post-operative management, glaucoma treatment and management, pediatrics, vision therapy and low vision.
After graduating from the New England College of Optometry, he worked at Ophthalmic Consultants of Boston, Massachusetts Eye Care Associates and State Street Eye Health Associates; gaining more experience in ocular disease, specialty contact lens fittings and primary care.
